• Post-graduate studies in geology, 1979-1981, Centenary College.
• 1978-1979, independent landman for various oil and gas companies.
• 1980-1982, partner, Landco Land Management, Inc. Supervised up to 40 landmen. Bought thousands of oil and gas leases in the ark-la-tex. Taught in-house classes to dozens of landmen concerning oil and gas mineral operations and the oil and gas mineral laws involved.
• 1980-1996, President, Pearl Resources, Inc., oil and gas exploration company active in the ark-la-tex.
• 1982-2008, independent oil and gas exploration. Performed just about every aspect of an exploration company: title work, leasing, geology, drilling operations and production of oil and gas. Worked up the geology on many oil and gas wells drilled, resulting in many producers.
• 1979-2008, have advised many landowners regarding leasing their mineral rights to oil and gas companies.

Prior to college and the oil and gas business, worked on Pittman Farms, Plain Dealing, Louisiana. Farmed several hundred acres of cotton and other row crops and ran 2,000 head of cattle for many years.
